Statement of Faith
Delmarva Evangelistic Church
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, without
error, and profitable for doctrine, correction, reproof and instruction in
righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)
We believe that Jesus is Lord, demonstrated by His virgin birth, His sinless
life, His death on the cross, and His resurrection from the dead. (Romans
10:9-10; Romans 1:4)
We believe in one God – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and that Jesus
Christ is God come in the flesh.
(John 14:6; Ephesians 1:17; 2 Corinthians
13:14; 1 John 4:2; Galatians 4:4-6)
We believe in salvation by grace through the blood and resurrection of the Lord
Jesus Christ. Salvation is a gift of
eternal life given to those who repent, confess with their mouth that Jesus is
Lord, and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead.
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts
(Matthew 28:19-20)
(Acts 2:3-4; 1 Corinthians 12, 13, 14;
Hebrews 6:2)
We believe that each Christian should manifest the Fruit of the Spirit, becoming
mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
(1 Corinthians 14; Galatians 5:20-21;
Ephesians
We believe in a literal heaven and a literal hell.
(Matthew
25:46; Mark 9:42-48; Hebrews 6:2)
We believe in the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
(Matthew 26:64; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians
4:13-18; 5:1-3)
We believe all believers have been called to be witnesses both in

We believe in caring for the poor, widows, orphans, and those who are suffering
from hunger, homelessness, or other physical needs. We believe in caring for the needs of the
Body of Christ, in loving our neighbors, and in loving one another.
(Matthew 25:35-40; John 13:34,35; James 1:27;
Galatians 6:10)
We believe in the five-fold ministry of Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers and
Evangelists, the foundation of the Church being the ministry of Apostles and
Prophets. These callings are the
authority gifts to the Church that the Saints might be edified and equipped to
do every good work. (1 Corinthians 12:28; Ephesians
